Je tiens à préciser que mon avis reste objectif, comme toujours. Il s'agit certes d'un envoi, mais j'ai pour principe de reste objective et impartiale, par respect pour moi-même et pour l'éditeur. Un grand merci tout particulier à Netgalley pour cet envoi. Maintenant que tout cela est précisé, passons à la critique :)

Comme vous le savez, je suis française et j’aime lire dans plusieurs langues, vous l’aurez compris, ce livre est en anglais. Parfois, lorsqu’on découvre un univers fantastique dans une autre langue, il n’est pas aisé de saisir toutes les subtilités qu’a voulu mettre en avant l’auteur.

Au début, j’ai un peu de mal à entrer dans l’histoire, peut-être à cause du rythme ou des descriptions, je ne saurais vous dire. Mais, une fois que celle-ci fût en place, je me suis prise au jeu.

La construction du monde à travers ce livre a été vraiment bien faite, il faut savoir que la majorité du roman se déroule sur la mer. Je n’ai pas trop l’habitude de lire des ouvrages sur des fonds marins, donc c’était une découverte.

Les chapitres sont courts et permettent une fluidité dans la lecture. Par contre, il y a beaucoup trop d’informations à la fois, ce qui perturbe la compréhension par moment.

Sachant que c’est le premier de la série, je comprends que l’auteur veuille nous décrire son univers, mais le trop-plein d’information dessert son ouvrage. Malgré ce bémol, on passe un bon moment en compagnie des personnages. Je dirais que si vous aimez la fantaisie, la mer et les univers un peu complexes vous serez servie. Surtout si vous aimez The Mortal Instrument.
