J'ai adoré cet ouvrage, mais surtout, car dès les premières pages, j'étais à fond dedans et je ne voulais pas le laisser sans connaître la fin de cette histoire.

L'univers est vraiment bien réalisé, il est à la fois angoissant, terrifiant, fascinant. Le jeu qui se passe dedans est brutal et impitoyable.

Les protagonistes Calla et Anton sont juste ouffisime.C’est un retelling de l’histoire de Cléôpatre et Marc Antoine représentés ici par une princesse vengeresse, Calla et un aristocrate en exil, Anton. Tous les 2 se retrouvent participants dans un jeu mortel et chacun y voit une occasion d’assouvir ses objectifs : tuer le roi pour Calla et sortir sa copine du coma pour Anton. Vont-ils jouer au nom de l'amour ou de leur royaume ?

 L'intrigue et tellement bien menée qu'on absolument savoir ce qui va se passe dans ce tome 2. Cela rappelle un peu les jeux des Hunger  games ou l'ouvrage ALpha and Oméga, avec l'histoire des jumeaux, dilogie que j'ai adoré.

Par contre voilà, il faut se l'avouer le jeu mortel est au final assez ‘flat’ par rapport à Hunger  Games. L'auteur nous donne beaucoup d’information à digérer qui nous tombent dessus tout le temps.
La romance sort un peu de nulle part et manque cruellement d’étincelles selon moi, cela sera sûrement mieux dans le prochain opus.
